TRAINEE LICENSE CLASSES
75 Classroom Appraisal Course Hours **
Must Be Supervised by Certified Residential Appraiser or Certified General Appraiser
 
Basic Appraisal Principles
30 Hours
Basic Appraisal Procedures
30 Hours
15-hour USPAP
15 Hours
** Massachusetts now requires 75 classroom hours inclusive of the 15-hour USPAP

 

 

APPRAISAL LICENSE CLASSES
150 Classroom Appraisal Course Hours
Experience:  2,000 Hours In No Fewer Than 12 Months (ME) 18 Months (NH) 24 Months (MA)
Examination
Effective 1/1/15 Must have 30 College Credits OR at least an Associates Degree
If you have an Associates or Higher the college Credit is Waived

If you have already taken the above three courses you only need to
take the following FOUR classes to obtain your Appraisal License.
 
Residential Market Analysis and Highest and Best Use

Residential Appraiser Site Valuation And Cost Approach
15 Hours
Residential Sales Comparison and Income Approaches
30 Hours
Residential Report Writing and Case Studies
15 Hours

 

APPRAISAL CERTIFICATION CLASSES
200 Classroom Appraisal Course Hours
Experience:  2,500 Hours In No Fewer Than 24 Months
Examination
 
Applicant must hold an Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited college or shall have acquired 21 Semester Credit Hours in specific classes.  If you have your Associate's Degree the 21 semester hours are waived. Effective 1/1/15 the applicant must have a Bachelor's degree (in any field) or higher

If you have already taken the above three courses you only need to
take the following FOUR classes to obtain your full license.

If you are already Residential Certified you need only take the
following FIVE (5) courses to upgrade to Certified General.
